Hello Summer!
Congratulations on completing a challenging school year!  Wishing you a nice summer and we hope that you will join NIE again either with our Summer session or for the 2020-2021 school session!


News & Announcements…

Important Reminder:  Please be sure to electronically verify your affidavit before summer begins – check  your email or spam folder.  As a note, the current school session ends on June 7.  We sincerely appreciate you doing your part in helping us have a successful audit of our program. Also, you will not be able to sign up for future sessions without signing this verification. Thank you in advance!

 

Summer Session: We will be offering a summer session for those teaching summer school. Registration will be open on Monday, June 8 and you and your students will have access to the program through Sunday, August 2.  We will send out an email reminder for you to register. Please note you need to sign up separately for each session.

 


June resources include…

The Great Outdoors Month. Get your students excited for a new adventure this summer by exploring the great outdoors! Even though some things may be a bit different this year, these are still good resources to share with your students ;  Find A Park and Kids in Parks.

 

National Safety Month. It’s Internet Safety Month! Give your students the information they need to protect themselves online over the summer and throughout the year by using these teen and younger kids resources from NetSmartz. Useful items include tip sheets and presentations.

 

Summer Reading Lists

Here is a list of some summer reading resources to help keep your students engaged with reading over the summer — please share with your students and parents:

 

ALSC:  Wide range of book titles from the division of the American Library Association for K-8.

Know Atom:   Downloadable Science Reading Sessions for K-12.

Read Across America:  From the National Education Association, find an extensive list of recommended books and teacher resources for K-12 .

Scholastic: Read-A-Palooza – read, celebrate and giving program for K-12.

June 21:  Father’s Day
It’s time to help your students honor their dads! Explore 23 activities and a wide range of cards, gifts, zoom backgrounds and more from Women’s Day.  There are some fun and creative way for kids to help thank their dads this year. And this year more than ever, they have been not only dads, but teachers.
